The Four Treasures Calligraphy Gift Set

Everything needed to write your first Chinese characters, in a cloth-covered gift box: two engraved brushes, an ink stick, an inkstone, a brush rest and rice paper. In China, the brush, ink, paper and inkstone have been called the Four Treasures of the Study for centuries. This set brings them together in one box, sized for a desk and simple enough for a complete beginner. Grind a little ink on the stone, dip one of the engraved brushes, and try your first strokes on real rice paper. When you're done, everything goes back into its place in the box — which makes it just as good on a shelf as it is on a desk.
